Arch Rivals is one of the first Genesis games I ever played, and I'm not sure what I was smoking at the time that made me think it was such a fun game. This game is tedious -- dreadfully tedious. It's an arcade style 2-on-2 basketball game where brutality and personal fouls are perfectly OK. You can run around punching guys in the face as you try to prevent them from scoring points, but the flipside is that they can do the same to you.

The concept of this game sounds pretty cool but the action is monotonous and jerky and gets old pretty quick. If you're looking for an unrealistic, arcade style basketball game get NBA Jam. This one's a real bore.
