Rating: B

Some of the best graphics done on the Genesis console. Unfortunately, the gameplay isn't as compelling as the visuals. Grab your enemies, slam your big head into them, collect the stars (er, wasn't it stars that you're collecting in this game?), climb ladders, jump, bash more enemies, make it to the end of the level and face the big boss and bash him too. I really wanted to like this game a lot because the graphics are just so damn good, but it does get dull after a while. After playing Sonic and a few of the other excellent platformers available for the Genesis, Ristar falls a bit flat.
