Some say this is the best of the Sonic games made for the Genesis, graphically or otherwise. It's definitely even faster than the original, and the already nice graphics of Sonic 1 have been noticably improved. The two-player split-screen mode suffers, however, because there's too much flicker and everything looks squashed. Personally, I would have preferred it if they had left Sonic's new sidekick "Tails" out altogether. Still, I would probably have to agree that Sonic 2 is the best of the whole series. I like it even better while playing it in conjunction with the Sonic and Knuckles cart (which allows you to play through Sonic 2 as Knuckles).
