Rocket Knight Adventures was a truly great game. Sparkster, its sequel, is noticably inferior. It seems that all the originality that made Rocket Knight Adventures so great was sacrificed in the attempt to make yet another Sonic clone. This game is certainly a good platformer but after playing Rocket Knight Adventures it's such a letdown. The original did just about everything better: graphics, character art, cutscenes, music, gameplay. Yeah, Sparkster is faster and flashier, but faster and flashier do not necessarily a better game make. Maybe if I wasn't such a RKA fan I could appreciate Sparkster as a game all its own. Still, if you're looking for a good action game for your Genesis, this one will fit the bill. If you want something even better, definitely check out Rocket Knight Adventures.
